Error #1012 is x-ray generator error and has many meanings. You need to run erp (error reporting program) to get more detais.
Error #601 is timeout error caused by #1012

1012 is a high voltage problem. may be an arcing tube. coul be also any part in hv chain, even an inverter. 601 is a subsequent error, probably

1012 is like to say "something is wrong". YOU NEED TO RUN ERP program to see TRACER and another information.
Also include information like the moment of the fail: During shoot,? Stand by? lost ready or not?

Feel free to contact in direct if you want
Jose

If you reduce KV and the error goes away, check the HV leads from the tube. Look for a very thin line on the "candle sticks" or the holder. Clean with alcohol. Put new HV oil in the hole before reinserting the leads. Most of the bigger xray tubes do not have removable leads on the tube side and have a warning label on the tube. Do not try to remove this type of lead from the tube. You also may have bad HV oil in the xray tube itself. I have replaced the oil with HV transformer oil from the local power company, but this is dangerous to the tube! Use an oscilloscope to see if the arching is on the negative and positive high voltage at the same time. If only one side, leads, HV multiplier, Anode box, or Filament box; if both sides, tube.

How to check if it is tube arcing. Disable gantry rotation! On the front of each HV multiplier is the fdbck and buffer boards. On these boards are IFDBK ma feedback test points. Place a scope probe on each board and set the channels to the same size. Use manexp to make exposers util it arcs. If the arc current is the same amplitude on both the negative and positive channels. The tube is arcing. Make sure the anode is spinning. If it is, change the oil. If one is big and one is small, the big side has the problem. It still could be a tube arc, but most likely not. Pickers have another problem, the HV generator will mistake power problems for arcs. Make sure all of your power leads to the system are good. Start at the main breaker and tighten all connections through the brushes to the AC chassis. Check the brushes. Remember the brush ring has power when the system is off!
