Hello. I have a little problem in work scanner Acuson Sequoia 512, sometimes it show a mistake "Cooling fan failure". After cliking 'OK', device work without troubles. But this repeating after 1-2 weeks. Please tell me, in what is problem, and what to do for it disapiring. Will be wait a answer.
There is a fan tray on the bottom of the system with a tachometer circuit to ensure the fans are turning. You might have an intermittent connection or a failing fan. Inspect it and reconnect cabling, or replace the fan tray assembly.
The only thing you need to be aware of is regarding access to the Sequoia are the board cage covers, front and back. To open those, you need a password and enable Service Access, or make sure that Third Party Service is a "Feature" on that system. Removing the card cage covers without the password or Third Party Service will cause the system to be disabled.
Opening the fan tray and plastic side covers will not cause a problem.
Yes, you need to remove the right side cosmetic cover. You do not need to remove the PCB (card) cage cover.
After removing the cosmetic cover, disconnect the cables from J1, J2, J3, and J4 of the fan tray assembly. Remove the 3 fan tray mounting screws, and you will be able to slide the tray out. There are 7 screws holding the fan mounting plate. Be sure to disconnect the molex connector from the board (Fan Tachometer PCB) which is mounted to the bottom side of the mounting plate.
