January 16, 2014 01:06

Dear Technicians
i have got the AGFA ADC SOLO 5155/100

my problem now the machine shows nothing on the display except a flashing (blinking) small black box on the upper left side even if i leave it for 4hrs its the same
i noted also that some times when i turn it on it keeps swathing on off on the display every 40sec

The solo has most likely lost the operating software and it will have to be reloaded. The floppy disks should be with the unit on the cpi rack. This can be done either by watching the light on the floppy drive or by using a service pc using hyper terminal. You can just try the software without formatting the hard drive but sometimes the hard drive has to be formatted.

you have an HDD drive problem; repair it by using HDD Regenerator by Dymitry Primochenko, using a scsi interface in a simple PC. Do not try to reload yet, is a large job for a not expert

They have to be atleast 10 gig hard drives. I assume you are still using scsi drives and have not upgraded to the new rack with IDE drive. You can get scsi HDD from amazon. I just ordered one and it was about $100. Just make sure it is not a hot swappable drive as the connectors are different.

I see you used the hd format disk. did you then go directly to the software disks or did you use the portex disk#2 after the format disk?

Your hard disk has bad sectors. I recommend you replace your hard disk. I have some one as spare parts. If you have internet access on your lap or some machine near to the digitizer I can get access trough of your machine to digitizer and chek your HD. Sectors.
