HI!
I NEED HELP WITH A PROBLEM IN A MAMMOGRPHY SYSTEM BENNETT CONTOUR, THE SITUATIO IS REGARDING A FAULT WITH FILTER AND COLLIMATOR,SOME TIMES WHEN I DO COLLIMATION WITH THE COLLIMATION BUTTON, IN THE OPERATOR CONTROL PANEL I GET THE MESSAGE "FILTER ?" AND THE MOTOR COLLIMATORS STOPS ANYWHERE AND WHEN I TRY TO COLLIMATE AGAIN THE MOTORS DOSEN'T WORK AND IN SOMETIMES THEY CLOSES ALL THE WAY AND MESSAGE "FILTER?" APPEARS AGAIN; I CHANGE SOME COMPONENTS IN A22 BOARD (COLLIMATOR AND FILTER BOARD), IN A3 (MICROPROCESSOR)NUT THE FAILURE STILL. I WILL APPRECIATE ANY COMMENTS.
THANK YUO.
Open the top cover of the tube mount ( Fibre cap) you will see that the filter is operated by a solenoid switch which tends to Jam, you will see a small wire going in two directions from the solenoid just slightly tug at each one and try to move it back and forth, it will work also apply a little transformer oil on the rhodium and molybdenum filters They also tend to jam and rust in the sliders. If you have the service manual look in page 3-41 for an idea of how to do this .
Please do not change board components 90% of the time its rust in the filter sliders which cause the jam.
Let me know if I can help.
best of luck.
