there are differences between different magnets that make this impossible, because of both the magnet design and the technique for shimming the magnet.

you can use a generic program to calculate the field inhomogeneity, but you cannot use one to calculate the actions you must take to correct the problem, since this is specific magnet to magnet. In some cases, there are some similarities but in general you need the specific program.

With any siemens magnets (oxford) you do not need any generic program to calculate field homogeneity you use the phantom shim function of service platform. Shimming as you know is an other theme. There were a stand alone shimming programm for P8 magnet (low field magnet). I wondering if there is a stand alone program to shimm high field siemens magnet as OR24, OR41/42, OR35, OR70, OR64,...
Do you have a Metrolab Field Camera with probe array for 64MHz/1.5T ? If so, all you need is the software and some spare iron plates. I have the Picker Optshim software. You can contact me for details at alfredofuhr@gmail.com

these used the same magnets as Siemens, talk to a Siemens shimmer and he can help you out. Marshall Shannon can help you.

Hi Steven,
Is there any stand alone shimming program for High field magnets?
Is there any for 0.35 T Magnetom C! Siemens Magnet?
Best ragards.

The mechanic and philosophy is changing from one magnet to another i.e. adjutments, screws, wedges, shim trays and irons,PM etc.
