siemens s2000 clone hd

July 17, 2025 11:02

Greetings;
I like to clone the hard drives of the ultrasound equipment I maintain, but I'm not very familiar with the Siemens line. Can anyone tell me if it's safe to clone the device's hard drive and if there's a procedure for doing so and installing it?
The equipment is an Acussom S2000.
Thank you;

Hi
In general, cloning is possible, but there are a number of nuances. In my experience, the serial number can be changed to 99999. When you try to transfer a copy of the disk to another machine, it constantly fails because the serial numbers are different. This can also lead to the loss of licenses. Therefore, it is better to install software from CDs

Hi, you can clone with a cloning tool like Acronis. However you should copy the license file, before the cloning process directly from the HDD to be safe.

HI, I have done this for all of my Siemens ultrasound machines (NX3 Elite) and it works like a charm. I have used HDDGuru but you can probably use Clonezilla as well, just make sure you make a true 1:1 copy of the ultrasound HDD that INCLUDES the disk signature. When you swap the HDDs, the machine will look for the serials in the ROM and update them on the new HDD, but only if the HDD signature is the same. If it is not, the system will consider it's a new HDD and revert the serial to 0000 or 9999 - and that's the end of it, because you can't get out of this situation without a siemens provided level8 or level 9 password.
BTW: if you end up making a s2000 HDD clone, I am interetse din a copy - granted it is the newer post 2015 version (HELX).
Thanks
