I've been having this issue with a green Octane computer where I have the Scan monitor and the Display monitor on for a while and suddenly the Display monitor signal goes off, I restart the computer and everything is normal, until it happens again. What I've noticed is that the Light on the front of the Octane goes Red as soon as the video signal goes down, and as soon as you reset it it goes off.
Does somebody know how to test the video board on these computers? Any help would be appreciated,
I would say your problem is something else, like the octane power supply.
Also check the host error log in usr/g/service/log and the SYSLOG in /var/adm to see if you have hard drive errors.
Do you see any panic, kernel errors when the screen goes black?
I solved the problem, the solution was only to regenerate the ImageDB, somehow the database was corrupted, and this was the end of the issue. The power supply was working perfectly fine, and the video boards where working good as well.
I appreciate all your help guys! Thanks again!

Hello Francisco.
may be you have a problem on the MARDIGRAS board (video board) usually this board fail and should be replace.
or you have a problem on memmory card.
run a test at the startup of system and chek if the video card is ok using the hinv command.
good luck.

Hi Francisco
It may be a problem with the octane power supply.
I would check the host error log at /usr/g/service/log and the SYSLOG located at /var/adm.
When the screen goes black does it show any panic or kernel error?

Hi everybody, thanks very much!
I solved the problem, the solution was only to regenerate the ImageDB, somehow the database was corrupted, and this was the end of the issue. The power supply was working perfectly fine, and the video boards where working good as well.
