I have one SA6000C which doesn't boot.
The unit powers-up, but there's no booting, like the PC's dead.
So..
1. no video signal, monitor displays "check cable"
- different cable, monitor-> the same
2. all contacts have been cleaned
3. PC, different processor - the same. The fan runs. The HDD -> only init. sound from it, nothing more. Ext.keyboard->just init.leds.
4. RS232 -nothing. No connection.
5. DSC changed (I don't have OUT board new)-still the same.
I suspect the PC board is dead...
Anyone had similar problem?
Hi Kobris,
have you checked the +12VDC and +5VDC? If the voltages are fine, then the system starts up with BIOS screen; can you see the BIOS screen?
Besides, have you exchanged the memories?
If you can send us images of fault, please send them to almmed@gmail.com.
Regards,
German.
Hi German, thanks for your time and help :-)
I have all voltages correct. Monitor has no signal, displays "check the video cable". Monitor, or cable isn't the problem. I tried with one RAM board , exchange the slots, nothing. Don't have a new one...
The PC board has a green led on, the proc fan is running (I even tried with a different proc). No video signal, but it's like there's "no life", just the fan is running :-)
Connected the ext.keyboard, tried "del", "f1" no response.
RS232 also.
HDD shouldn't be the problem, cause there has to be a POST before reading the HDD (ram testing, bios, etc..).
Also, no sound from HDD, except during power on (it's ok), meaning the PC isn't trying to read from it ...
Different HDD - the same.
System doesn't boot at all, monitor receives no video signal.
You have to check whether the PC recognize HDD or not.
Prepare External Key board and any VGA Card
Open the case on PC Side..
check Voltage of Back up battery (+3.3V)
--> Lower than 3.0V, Replace it
Connect VGA Card to slot at PC Mother Board
Connect Monitor Cable to VGA Card
Connect External Keyboard to PC Card.
Turn on the power and hit the Esc key to get C-Mos Set up Mode.
Check date, time and whether PC recognized HDD or not.
Let me know result, I send some more information depend on cases.
Hi Tommy, thanks for you effort.
Please see my reply to mr.Flores
As I can tell, that's an ISA slot.. don't have VGA for it.. :-/
Backup battery is new, and checked.
If only I can get video signal, cause now I don't know whether the PC board works at all or not..
If all the power supplies check good, you may have a video card issue. Not sure if it's part of the motherboard, or a discrete card in Processor rack. Consult prop manual.
as I can tell, if a video is faulty, then there would be some activity (sound) afterall from HDD, when PC reads from it. Different HDD- the same. Only the init sound when it powers-up.
DSC+OUT board is for video, I changed DSC, but dont have OUT to try with.. they're managing the backplane boards for VGA, printer etc.. all connectors..

it's the same with or without HDD. Problem is that there's no POST, nothing... it should display ram testing, bios etc, before reading the HDD.
