My Siemens Symphony started to loose more He then it used to. It was at 0.1%, and few weeks now it looses 0.3 %. Chiler, water temp and compressor are all good.
Shield tmos are: 20K L 15-19, 20K B 19-20, 80K L 53, 80K B 57.7.
What can be the cause of this increase in He loss? Please help.
PER DAY?
Most likely cause is COLDHEAD, when was the last service
Compressor Absorber, when was the last service
Compressor Pressure, what is current pressure?
Which compressor?
Which coldhead?
Last Service?
Who did last service, as the going cheap provides cheap results?
Current pressure of compressor
Current pressur of Magnet?
Per day, yes. It uses to be 0.1. It is APD cold head and HC10 compressor. Last service unknown. I bought the system year ago and that detail is left out.
Compressor presure is around 20bar. Temp in pipes is arounn 8-9 C. Adsorber changed 9 months ago.
Shield temps are ok, so that is confusing to me. Any sugestions?
Have you tried using a helium leak detector at the top of the magnet. Could be a fitting is just loose and needs tightened. I have also had the bypass vale assembly start leaking. That required a replacement.
I think gut sign is, that outer barrier of the magnet against Energy input in it is ok. The integral sign of good function of all parts of the System, which Service this barrier, are shields temperatures, if they were correct measured.
The pressure in magnet in acceptable limits could not change LHe evaporation to triple.
I would think it stays, exclusive exotic, internal sources, which could generate addition energy, for example LHe Level meter or EIS heater. LEDs sign a malfunction of them, but not always.
Yes it stays too, that LHe Level meter measures incorrect, but it is not difficult to see.
Aleksandar, as you can see from the helpful and accurate replies to your posting, this is a complex problem that could have many causes. You should hire a reputable and experienced firm to assist you, one who can diagnose the problem and knows how to fix it. It is not a situation that you can fix alone with guidance from helpful strangers. Get an expert to fix it before it gets extremely costly.
As long as it is a problem. I am not yet convinced that it is or it is not, since it is stable loss. It is my wish that system loses less hellium, purely financial reasons. I would love if someoene can come and say: ok, this is wrong and needs to be fixed, or just say, there is nothing wrong, just state of mind of machine.

Can you see the pressure of the magnet?

Just above 0.5, I would say 0.6
