Problem with a GE Sytec 3000 CT Scanner, Error 117 and the LED #33 FILOL is ON. Both wave forms in the Filament control are OK, working with system the rotor doesn't even seem to start, but when is turned ON with switch S11 starts running but with some noises at the begining. When working locally with switches SW4 and SW3 the following LED's illuminate D27 DVP4, D28 DVN4 under KV is detected, D29 OLP and D30 OLN Over mA is detected.I would like some fresh ideas before saying the X ray tube is bad. Thank you.

About sytec 3000
Is the rotor running or not ?
There is HT before alarm or not (check with a digital scope) ??
before sayng that the tube is broke you need several checks.
Let me know.

I have seen the exact problem many times. Your tube is more than likely bad. If you don't have a tube to hang next to the old one and see if generates x-ray, you could try a bleeder. See if the rotor has a short or an open first before doing this.

Hi,
Please try no load test. Remove HV cables from tank side and fill oil. Try 0 mA exposure by setting sw7,sw8,sw9 to 0. If you get 120kV without problem, remove tube and check is there any bubble inside it, most cases you get Fil Over Current when you have a broken insert!!! Also please check RV2 on power controller!!! That potansiometer may cause this. Please feel free to contact me from:
