We are looking to change out our full spine bucky to a tilting bucky. Don't need the full spine capability anymore, but do need to be able to tilt to take upper cervical chiropractic xrays. Do anyone know if this can be done or know if parts are even available?
First off what manufacturer wall bucky are you talking about.
Are you looking at converting a 14x36 bucky to a 17x17 bucky?
It's not as easy as adding a tilting function to a wall bucky especially if it was never an option from a specific manufacturer.
I know Control-X, Siemens, GE, Phillips make tilting buckys, but the junk that summit, tingle put out was never engineered to do such a thing.
And if you remove a 14x36 bucky and install a 17x17 in place of it you better be ready to counter-balance it.
Anyone who knows anything about taking a cervical Lateral, Oblique or AP radiographs knows you don't need a tilting bucky.
What you do need to do is be able to angle the tube for the proper projection and not the bucky.
Tilting buckys are great for extremity work but not for spine work.
