Dear collegues,
does anyone know, should ups-battery warning leds stay lighting after changing of the batteries. Particulary in the "Little Star" Toshiba ups. I found, that for example, an APC ups makes battery test once a 14 days and from the test the leds will be set.
Iosif,
The Little star UPS is tricky, if you let the battery drain too far down, it will delete the firmware inside the UPS unit itself. After that, it (usually) will not work properly again.
I suggest replacing the Little Star with an APC 700 or 800.
Worst case, you will have to manually startup the UPS after powerdown (my sites do not power down, so its not a problem.
Little Star is junk after 8-9 years. If you look at the wiring on the back, you can eliminate it all together.Little star is only used if power to building goes off giving you a chance to 'shutdown' the system.
yes, I know it's simple, but unfortunately the system is installed in place with a lot of probability that the power can be often off.
Anyway, thank you.
