We have a Voluson 730 Expert with serial number A05928, and according to the System Info., the Application software version is Sys D03.1.07H, if I am not mistaken, this is still BT01 version.
Since we are having intermittent problems with the machine, I am planning to re-install the software or if possible, upgrade it at the same time, the problem is, we don't have any CD/DVD copy of the software installer.
My question is, can it be upgraded to a higher version? if so, what are the pre-requisites and where can I get the software?
Sometimes the machine will boot up until the image on screen can be seen but the cursor shows an hour glass (which means it is busy) and with the touch screen blank, but before the touchscreen goes blank, it displays Voluson 730.
Sometimes it can be resolved with just a complete power cycle of the unit, but sometimes it took us more than 3 reboots.
I already performed built in test of the console and it pass.
I also did clean the computer box, the terminals of the boards and reseat them as suggested by other entries on this forum.
The only thing that I did not do is to reload the software.

You can upgrade your system to rev 2.1.2 or 2.2.0, or keep the same rev you currently have. I will sugest you to replace the HD, that may be the solution for your system. If you need more assistance contact me rey@allultrasoundservices.com

there is a recovery utility embeded in the voluson 730 . while on boot , at the point where the system actually writes at the top left corner the word :" boot ", you have to press shift+e and then tab to display a menu where you choose L . it will then ask for password . Pass is case sensitive "Rudi". after that navigate through the menus to perform a system recover . note that you will lose data regarding printers and some settings since the unit will recover to factoru defaults .
