If your densitometer software was not specifically written for Windows 7, DON'T DO IT!!

Hello Villa

if you have the installation discs you should not have trouble installing it, provided the densitometer on your specifications check you that you can do, are often designed to work in the factory environment, and want to speed up or make faster fall in error and modify the equipment does not work properly.
I had problems with a team that worked with Windows 98 and never work with Windows XP, more or less work with Windows 98, the problem that the entire CPU was damaged (hard drive and motherboard) and as you'll notice today find spare parts for such equipment is difficult, processing speeds are different drivers.
if you have problems it is best not to change and if you can clone your hard drive to be backed up your information and software.

Hi, Villa!

Assuming you're talking about GE LUNAR BMD, old models runs over MS-DOS plataform, so you'll need to adapt it using Dosbox (never did make the whole configuration, but have seen it working together to an old DPX-Alpha), that emulates the famous Operating System.

Now, if you're talking about newer systems such as DPX-MD+/NT, even Prodigy, using eNcore SW, you might try to install it into a Windows 7, and check if all components will work.

Maybe, if it wouldn't work, you could, also trying, installing a Virtual Machine, such Virtual Box, and give to the System a Windows XP running over any other early OS.

Hope these help, take care, God Bless.

Kind regards,

MAC.

Hi Villa,

You can try to do this. Put a second HD in your PC and create a clone, so you will be safe and can make this test.
