The Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc. Magnetic Resonance Imaging system, AIRIS II, is a high performance, premium open MR scanner. AIRIS II combines a 0.3 Tesla field strength and advanced permanent magnet technology for outstanding image quality. It has an award-winning open gantry design that provides easy access from all four sides and offers the patient a comfortable environment. AIRIS II has an extremely fast and powerful 15 mT/m gradient system for enhancing day-to-day clinical performance and for specialized, emerging technologies. Its digital RF system, both the 4-channel quadrature transmitter and the Dual QUAD receiver, provides high sensitivity and maximum anatomical coverage. AIRIS II has the extended throughput of a RISC-based, 64-bit UNIX platform workstation and an easy-to-use OpenWindows-based graphical user interface. The system is extremely cost-effective and easy to site in as little as 375 sq.ft. The AIRIS II configuration includes:

Patient comfort and fit is enhanced with the notched, flexible design.

Large QUAD Flexible Spine and Body Notch Coil
This large spine and body coil (150cm in circumference) combines quadrature RP technology with solenoid coil design for high quality spine and body imaging. The AIRIS II multi-tasking provides simultaneous scan and reconstruction
capabilities. This feature increases Throughput during multiple acquisitions by eliminating the time interval associated with reconstruction. Other multi-tasking features include image review, prescribe ahead scan set-up, archive, filming MPR, MP and network transfers (optional).

Integral to the AIRIS II operating system is the support of short and long term archive and digital interface for filming.

The circumference of this coil is ideal for imaging large patients.The wrap around coil design provides uniform signal intensity within the selected field-of-view, along with the coils extended longitudinal coverage for comprehensive lumbar or thoracic spine imaging.

The quadrature cervical spine provides high SNR and uniformity for imaging the neck and cervical spine, with expansive superior-inferior anatomical coverage.
