The SonoPeel™ uses the patented CaviFacial™ technology to quickly, gently, effectively and safely reduce the stratum corneum. The proprietary magnetostrictive ultrasound technology and the patented titanium applicator employ a fine plume of water on the surface of the skin. High frequency oscillations of the titanium applicator results in water bubble implosions and a cavitational force that causes a discohesion of the non-viable stratum corneum cells, a process termed CaviFacial™.

The 30,000 cycles per second, 5 micron amplitude of deflection creates a secondary micromechanical effect to “lift off” and remove the cavitated keratinocytes. The CaviFacial™ process also liquifies sebaceous plugs and comedomes, improving the appearance of blackheads. The high frequency ultrasound also alters the temporary micro-phores in the phospholipid bi-layer of the skin surface and water is propelled into the superficial papillary dermis, causing an immediate and pleasing hydration or “plumping” of the skin.

Other ancillary benefits and applications of the SonoPeel™ include acne patients, where the CaviFacial™ process helps liquefy the sebaceus plugs that fazcilitate the bacterial overgrowth.
