Plasma sample volumes from 0.01 ml up to 2 ml can be used. Concentration factors can be > 55-fold: e.g. 2 ml sample volume input, and 35 ul eluate volume. Closed system eliminates sample-to-sample carry-over and environmental template contamination during nucleic acid extraction. Provides highly purified RNA and DNA free of inhibitors.
