STARMEDPRO Digital Direct Radiography upgrade sets (DR Sets) are complete solutions for upgrading conventional x-ray radiography systems still currently working on x-ray film and CR basis to full Digital systems. The DR Upgrade Set can connected to any conventional radiography system of any manufacturer without major technical interventions into the x-ray system and will not take longer than 1-2 hours by experienced engineers.
The flat panel design is based on Selenium technology for the direct conversion of photons into electrical signals. The selenium is spatial resolution and sharpness. The cumulated energy of the photons hitting a detector matrix element is captured as electrical energy in a condenser which is de-loaded by the Thin Film Transistor for Read-out. After Read-out the detector elements are set to ‘Neutral’ by erasing the electrical load and ready for the next set of data acquired. Read out and neutralization interval will only take 3-5 seconds, depending on the nos. of matrix elements. The time interval between two exposures or studies is just 15 seconds so that the workflow and throughput is tremendously improved.
