The Bear 3 is a positive pressure, conventional ventilator. It can be used for CPAP, transport, and in the ICU, and it can be used in adult and pediatric care. The Bear 3 has no integrated nebulizer, optional humidifier, and has peak flow augmentation. It offers decelerating or constant flow, and functions as either a controller or an assistant controller. The built-in compressor automatically activates in the event of wall air failure. The monitor displays are highly visible, and has comprehensive alarms. The monitor will display exhaled tidal volume/minute volume, rate, temperature, and I:E ratio. The pressure support can handle up to 66 cm of H2O in SIMV and CPAP.
