The GE E-sCO Monitor is a compact and reliable respiratory module designed to support respiratory monitoring in anesthesia and critical care areas. The E-sCO Monitor provides real-time measurements of airway gases using the sidestream method. It monitors inspired and end-tidal values of carbon dioxide (CO2) and oxygen (O2), as well as the CO2 waveform and respiration rate.
Using GE infrared technology, the E-sCO Monitor measures and identifies all five anesthetic agents (halothane, enflurane, isoflurane, sevoflurane, and desflurane) and two agent mixtures. It also calculates the Minimum Alveolar Concentration (MAC) and MACage with age, temperature, and ambient pressure compensation.
The E-sCO Monitor provides true patient values independent of the ventilator using GE-patented D-lite (++) and Pedi-lite (+) flow sensors. It offers numerical values for airway pressure, minute and tidal volumes, compliance, airway resistance, I:E ratio, and flow and airway pressure waveforms.
The E-sCO Monitor non-invasively and continuously measures oxygen consumption (VO2) and carbon dioxide production (V CO2). It also provides values for energy expenditure (EE) and respiratory quotient (RQ). The E-sCO Monitor is very compact, lightweight, and has low power consumption, making it suitable for various care areas.
