The Spiro PD personal spirometer is a hand held device that is used to test the user’s lung capacity. Measures of air flow and volume are indicators of lung health. By blowing into the tube of the Spiro PD the user can see a measure of his/her forced expiratory volume for one second (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC), FEV1/FVC ratio, peak expiratory flow (PEF), and forced expiratory flow from 25% to 75% (FEF 25/75). The SPIRO PD spirometer is intended to be used by a patient under the instruction of a physician or respiratory therapist to test lung function in child, adolescent and adult. It is intended to be used as a single-patient device only and can be used in any setting - home, factory, hospital or physician's office.
The SPIRO PD spirometer is indicated for the following age groups:
• 2-12 years - Child
• 13-21 years - Adolescent
• 22 and over- Adult
Spiro PD is the first personal spirometer that empowers patients with lung diseases – those with asthma, COPD, CF and lung transplants – to easily and accurately monitor their lung function anytime and anywhere.
Spiro PD is no ordinary spirometer and is certainly more than a peak flow meter. It is small, battery powered, portable and lightweight, allowing users the freedom to track lung health any time, anywhere—at home, on vacation, at work, school, play, and more. Because it is a personal spirometer, no one uses it but the assigned user. The Spiro PD features an intuitive color touchscreen which it is easy to use. Users can manage their own medications, set lung function test reminder alarms, medication and breathing exercise alerts. A convenient USB interface allows the user to quickly data upload for review by a therapist or MD.
Spiro PD is cleared by the FDA for the use by a patient to test lung function in children, adolescents, and adults. It is a single-patient device. Spiro PD is also certified with the CE mark for the European Union (EU) market. Spiro PD meets American Thoracic Society (ATS) and European Respiratory Society (ERS) standards
For the listed price they buyer will receive a clean Spiro PD kit which has been used for demonstration purposes, not with an assigned end user. It will have less than ten tests on it and as few as two. If the buyer has a color preference, this should be made clear to the seller by contact through the ad site prior to or at the time of purchase.
US buyers will pay no handling fees, taxes or tariffs of any kind (not Canadian or American). What is paid on check out is all that will be paid by the buyer.
Delivery will be by UPS Standard service.
Canadians will require a prescription and or permission from Health Canada to legally purchase this item. It is probably simpler for Canadians to purchase one of these from an American supplier as a result.
