DMN: How does this fit into all the changes going on with the Affordable Care Act?
DR: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is obviously one of the biggest changes in legislature here in the U.S. in many years. It creates a lot of change, but in that change is a lot of opportunity — we've seen a real shift from hospitals in the last couple of years to develop advanced emergency departments and that will drive changes in health care particularly from a point-of-care perspective, and that is a central market we are focused on right now: How do we address that immediate need in things like emergency department triage as well as the diagnosis and treatment, which is your classic CT and MR technologies.

DMN: What excites you most about the industry these days?

DR: I think when we look at health care today there is such a broad range of areas you can address, particularly when you look at the U.S. We know diabetes is becoming a national epidemic, and there are several other major health care factors driving the market, like baby boomers coming into retirement. It's such a broad opportunity and comes down to focusing on what we can have most impact on. And at this point in time, especially with changes in the health care model, I believe that focusing on all patients who will come into the system in the next 24-48 months is key to delivering a good health care model.
