The tags are also helping to track wound vacuums, which PRMC rents. As soon as these pieces of equipment arrive, they are tagged and placed in storage until they are needed. The hospital isn't billed for the rental until the pump leaves Central Processing and is used on a patient.
"With MobileView, we can tell when each pump leaves our area, and we can track the specific start time with the patient. With both the wound vacuums and the specialty beds that we rent, that visibility has helped us ensure that our rental invoices are 100 percent accurate," Conklin said.
