How does it work?
EMsculpt® induces extremely strong (supramaximal) muscle contractions thanks to electromagnetic waves, that cannot be achieved during a traditional workout. When exposed to these strong contractions, the muscle tissue is forced to adapt to these extreme conditions. In response, its internal structure is remodeled deep down, resulting in muscle gain and fat elimination. EMSculpt® is suitable for all patient types: athletic and non-athletic people alike, since we can adapt the power of the machine on an individual basis.
Besides, the body’s strong energy expenditure is responsible for eliminating fat cells: over the weeks, the patient loses the localized fat in these two areas.
An EMSculpt® session lasts thirty minutes, during which 20,000 muscle contractions are induced. 20,000 muscle contractions are equivalent to 20,000 squats or crunches!
The clinical trials conducted have proved that a 16% increase in muscle mass and a 19% reduction in fat are observed after 4 EMSculpt® sessions.
What happens at a session
During a session, which lasts approximatively 30 mins, the physician places the applicators on the area to be treated, then selects the intensity of the contractions according to the wishes and tolerance of the patient. The patient then feels a slight tingling associated with a tightening effect, similar to the feeling experienced during an intensive core strengthening session session.
