For Low Commission Auctions, DOTmed charges a nominal setup fee based on the starting bid or the reserve price, whichever is higher, and a commission based on the selling price. Rerunning your Auction, if necessary, is free.
For Commission-Free Auctions, DOTmed charges a modest setup fee based on the starting bid or the reserve price, whichever is higher. Rerunning your Auction, if necessary, is free.
In a Basic Self-Managed Low Commission or Commission-Free Auction you are responsible for all management functions, including:
- Replying to Bidders
- Collecting Payment
- Deinstallation/Crating/Shipping
DOTmed will:
To post a Basic Self-Managed Auction, you will need:
- An accurate description of the equipment.
- Digital photograph(s)
- Clear title to the equipment
- A valid credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express).
You must read and agree to our Auction Terms and Notice of Auction, which are on the next pages.
After you describe the equipment you can select from our sample terms or leave it to us.
Next you will upload photographs of the equipment you plan to auction.
A note about photos:
Clear, informative photos of your equipment will help it sell
faster, and possibly for a higher price. Use a flash -- photos taken
under fluorescent light often have a greenish cast, which does not
look good. You can post as many photos as you think necessary, and
more than one photo is recommended.
Don't worry... DOTmed will review your auction. Because we want you to
get the highest price for your equipment, we may ask a few questions
or make suggestions regarding your posting. Once we approve your
auction for posting on DOTmed, we will email you a link where you
can print out our standard agreement form, just click the link to accept the terms
-- and your auction will be viewable by our more than
12,000 daily visitors!

Reduced closing percentages are based on the selling price within each price category. For instance, if your item sells for $100,000, the commission is:
