Finding EU Partners
Although the European market is similar to the U.S. in its demand for high quality, fast response time and low-cost solutions, there are differences. Despite the unifying flag of the EU, the reality is that each country has its own unique operating environment as well as public versus private health networks. These country-specific dynamics account for the different rates of adoption of third party solutions for service and parts. For example, REM Medical Systems, one of Italy's largest independent imaging service providers, has grown rapidly the last three years as the market has opened to alternatives to OEM service and parts; they are also expanding their service outside of Italy. Critical to this expansion is the availability of quality assured parts from reliable sources.

Antonio Testa from REM's procurement team knows this better than most. "We cannot provide the best service without having confidence that when we buy parts, they will work the first time, every time. This is why ReMedPar is such a critical partner to REM. We know that when a part comes from ReMedPar, it has been fully tested in their operating QA system bays by their technicians. Some of our field engineers have trained at their facility, and we have a high confidence in their capabilities versus other suppliers that only source parts from others."
Regardless of cross-border differences, an interconnected global economy and pressures to cut costs while ensuring quality and performance are making the medical equipment markets a smaller world in which to do business.
