New applications of integral diagnostics and therapy of cancer diseases will be at the centre of this year's new international Congress program. Renowned developers and users will shed some light on the innovative solutions from various perspectives chaired by Dr. Hans-Ulrich Kauczor and Dr. Jurgen Debus (Heidelberg University Clinic).

For the first time ever, the annual meeting of the "Rheinisch-Westfalische Gesellschaft fur Innere Medizin e. V." (Rhineland-Westphalian Society for Internal Medicine) will be held as part of MEDICA. Under the heading "Update Multi-disciplinary Internal Medicine" the society will provide not only internal physicians, but also other specialists with a condensed continuous medical education programme on new trends in the treatment of the major internal clinical patterns. The chair of the conference, Dr. Rainer Haas (Dusseldorf University Clinic), has compiled continuous education modules for the big sub-disciplines of internal medicine - i.e. cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology and geriatrics - that link state-of-the art developments with hands-on knowledge for daily medical practice.
