Carestream was out in full force during RSNA, exhibiting their entire portfolio of products, from traditional film radiography to DR products, mammography, molecular imaging systems, to dental imaging products.
In this DOTmed News HD video exclusive, Eileen Heizyk, worldwide marketing manager for the company's Digital Capture Products division, discusses some of the benefits of Carestream's DRX-1 digital detector, the DRX-Evolution suite and a works-in-progress retrofit kit for mobile X-ray units.

The DRX-Evolution suite is modular and fully integrated with a wireless, cassette-sized DRX-1 digital detector, an elevating table, overhead tube and wall stand. Heizyk says digital means more face-time with the patient, since technologists are freed up from running down the hall to process cassettes, and image acquisition within seconds translates into better patient throughput.
"With the DRX-1 detector you'll see a preview image come up in five seconds," said Heizyk. "The fact that you can preview your images that quickly has led to increased productivity and certainly means you can get more patients through in a day."
The DRX-Evolution suite was first made available in October and RSNA 2009 was the technology's official trade show debut.
