Siemens Creates New Division Dedicated to Image and Knowledge Management

Executive Biographies
The new Imaging and Knowledge Solutions division will be led by Ajit Singh, Ph.D., who is transferring from his role as president of Siemens Oncology Care Systems (OCS) division. At Siemens OCS, Singh was responsible for the global oncology business, including engineering, manufacturing, sales and service. Under his leadership, Siemens Oncology introduced the "Seek-Find-Act-Follow" approach to full continuum of Oncology Care, gained significant market share, and added many new adaptive radiation therapy products to its portfolio - resulting in a comprehensive set of offerings oriented toward an efficient and "evidence-based" approach to oncology. Prior to this position, Singh was group vice president of Siemens e.health Business division where he was responsible for creating the infrastructure and processes for Siemens' electronic communications with customers, and for pursuing new e-business opportunities worldwide. Singh also served as vice president of Siemens Health Services division where he led the company's consulting and information technology solutions businesses.
Succeeding Singh as president of Siemens OCS will be Holger Schmidt, formerly the president of Siemens Special Systems Division, where he held global responsibility for a wide variety of products, including surgery, urology, women's health, mobile X-ray and accessory solutions. Schmidt's accomplishments in this role include driving Siemens to become a leading innovator in digital mammography, mobile X-ray, three-dimensional (3D) C-arm solutions, urodiagnositics and lithotripsy.

Jochen Dick will assume responsibility as the new president of Siemens Special Systems Division, leaving his current position as president and CEO of Siemens-Asahi Medical Technologies in Tokyo, Japan.
