Kassel also stressed to the paper that the decision by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to reimburse for FUS treatment for essential tremor this year will “open the floodgates” for the therapeutic modality in the U.S.

And experimental treatments for epilepsy, he advised, are slated to start in “weeks to months.”

Kassell was also interviewed by the show and noted that “one of the key impediments to the development and adoption of the technology is lack of awareness. It turns out that we have a celebrity on our board who has got a brand, can tell a story, and has a following.”
