"A person can put on a mask and with this real-time fit check mode, they can see right away if they have problems," Tillman said. "If they put it on incorrectly they don't have to go through the full test."

If the mask fails the full test, the PortaCount's real-time fit check mode can help pretest a different mask size or a different brand of mask.

"That can save a lot of time," Tillman said. "Without that, you might conduct a full fit test in one mask, fail, and try again, over and over. The dashboard can tell you if a mask is not going to work."

The device also has the potential for customers to transfer test records to their own systems, such as an employee management program. Or customers can continue to store data in a TSI database.

"Overall, we have added a number of features to make the fit test administrator's job more productive, while enhancing safety for those wearing masks," Tillman said.
