When asked, generally speaking, if quality of parts takes precedence over price, virtually everyone in attendance raised their hand in agreement.

All of these factors must be considered when establishing regulations and standards that ensure a level playing field for all parties, according to Kerwin, who believes efforts to propel H.R. 2118 into law could begin as early as this summer, as an inclusion of the Animal Drug User Fee Act.


“We think there should be room at the table for everybody, and that ultimately, the patient suffers when there are no choices, when some are excluded by the standards,” he said. “We just hope that this dialogue will result in a change of perception.”
