The Scholarship awards
will be based on
merit and need.

This program will award $50,000 in scholarships to children of EMTs and Firefighters interested in becoming EMTs, or furthering their certification by becoming Paramedics. The scholarship awards will be available nationwide for those who fit the eligibility criteria and are interested in pursuing a state approved certification program.
Eligibility
-- Must be the son or daughter of a career or volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, or Firefighter (active, retired or deceased) who is interested in a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

-- Must plan to attend a State approved EMT Basic certification program or increase their level of certification through an EMT Intermediate or Paramedic program.
Amount of funding
-- EMT-B program - Potential of 50% of program fees up to $500.
-- EMT-I or EMT-P - Potential of 50% of program fees up to $2,000.
Deadlines
November 2, 2007 - Seventh round scholarship
May 2, 2008 - Eighth round scholarship
