Dr. Bertka is co-editor and co-education director of The Core Content Review of Family Medicine, and is a past president of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians. He serves as chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians' (AAFP) Commission of Membership and Member Services, and is a candidate for the AAFP Board of Directors. Dr. Bertka also currently serves as a clinical associate professor for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Toledo's College of Medicine. Dr. Bertka received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Toledo and a medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. He completed a fellowship in family medicine faculty development at Michigan State University, and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems.
