Kramer cautions against the temptation of buying a drastically lower-priced machine as opposed to one that has been adequately refurbished but may cost more, at least not without considering the difference in quality. Sometimes sellers will pass along a machine directly from the hospital to the next customer. Although these machines may be less expensive, they are much more likely to have problems. "I've never seen a machine come in that didn't need some kind of attention before we sent it back out," Kramer said. C&G Technologies puts in 200 man-hours for each piece of equipment before it leaves their facility to make sure that it's as good as new.
Kramer also noticed a trend among some sellers in the industry to promote the "flavor of the month," which may or may not be the best machine for a particular organization. At C&G Technologies, they instead take the time to get to know the buyer of the equipment, learning information such as what their needs are, projected volume, and what physical space is available. Based on this information, they will recommend the machine that is the best fit for the organization.

C&G Technology's concern that customers receive well-working equipment that meets their needs stems from their awareness of the vital importance of the machines. "People count on these machines with their lives, and it's up to us to make sure that they do what they were intended to do," Kramer said.
This concern over quality has led to success for C&G Technologies. They recently moved to a new facility four times larger than their previous location. They have added eight staging bays (up from 4 in their previous location), a full-size automotive paint booth, a covered loading dock, a modern board repair facility, a custom X-ray tube processing unit, a large vacuum chamber that allows them to test and repair high voltage tanks for spiral CT scanners, and an improved parts inventory system. This year they have already sold 35 CT scanners, and are on-track to sell a total of 60 by the end of the year. Having the extra space has allowed C&G Technologies to grow exponentially, and to further fine-tune their ability to treat the machines with the care they are known for.
C&G Technologies has also recently joined the DOTmed 100. Kramer has been very pleased with the recognition and thanks all his employees for doing a great job.
