Emerging technologies move the patient and staff experience forward
The primary drivers of these digital transformations are cost, experience, and expectations, many of which have been exacerbated by the pandemic. According to the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, healthcare organizations are considering emerging technologies as the conduit to transform customer relationships and increase staff efficiency and satisfaction. In fact, 92% relayed that increased consumer satisfaction and engagement are the top outcomes facilities aim to achieve from digital transformation, followed by improved care quality at 56%. Other top outcome goals include enhancing the patient experience, clinical care delivery, and staff satisfaction.
It is important to note that the previous golden standard of optimizing healthcare performance has shifted from the Triple Aim (enhancing the patient experience, improving population health, and lowering costs) to the Quadruple Aim. This additional Aim factors in the clinician’s well-being. The pandemic repeatedly demonstrated the effects of clinician burnout and how it impacts the patient experience, health outcomes, and financial costs. As healthcare organizations seek improvements to the patient experience and care quality, they must also consider the well-being of their staff members. Emerging technologies such as RTLS hold the key to fully re-vamping healthcare processes for the better, which will benefit the patients, clinicians, and healthcare organizations overall.
