Five Minutes in Healthcare - Michael Friebe

by Philip F. Jacobus, CEO | January 14, 2026
Michael Friebe
Five Minutes in Healthcare is where I discuss current events with some of the industry's most influential leaders.

Today I am joined by Dr. Michael Friebe, who in addition to being a leading mind in imaging is also an old friend of mine, and of our news. We talk about a fundamental challenge impacting healthcare: the paradox that sickness is what brings people into the system, not prevention.

As Michael explains, the road to a health system based on wellness rather than sickness is one fraught with roadblocks, but the journey is essential and the benefits would be tremendous. Imaging, and radiologists themselves, can play a vital role in supporting that new paradigm.
