About HIMSS Foundation
Established in 1986, the HIMSS Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of HIMSS, providing support and assistance to the industry and its members through: financial assistance, scholarships, to students in healthcare-IT related fields; providing access for students and governmental agencies to free industry data; and providing financial relief/assistance for special need-based programs and issues. Projects that the Foundation supports include: scholarships for students in healthcare IT-related fields, and relief and assistance for need-based programs such as the Katrina Phoenix Project. The Foundation, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, is organized and operated within the meaning of Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
