Capsule and Philips Expand Device Connectivity in Europe

by Astrid Fiano, DOTmed News Writer | February 18, 2009

"Philips is clearly a pioneer in clinical information systems, and we are proud to work with them to expand our reach to leading international hospitals and health organizations, such as Hospital Sant Joan de Deu," said Ken Purcell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for EMEA of Capsule Technologie. "Device connectivity has become a major priority for hospitals around the world as they realize the tangible benefits of getting this critical data from the bedside devices directly into their patient information systems to improve patient care and clinician efficiency. We're very excited to begin rolling out more implementations of DataCaptor 5.0 device connectivity solution and Philips ICIP-CC in hospitals worldwide over the next several months."

The press release states that in addition to the implementation at Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, Capsule and Philips plan additional implementations at hospitals and health care institutions in France, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and the United States in the coming months.
