PEABODY, MA (November 30, 2005) - John Wood, President and CEO of Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG), announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Edmund F. Becker, Jr., executive vice president and chief operating officer of analogic.
Dr. Becker, a resident of Manchester, Massachusetts, has been an employee of Analogic since 1977. Serving many years as Vice President and General Manager of the Medical Imaging Components Division, he headed Analogic's medical imaging subsystems business as the Company developed into the world's leading supplier of subsystems to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the emerging field of diagnostic medical imaging. These subsystems include Data Acquisition Systems (DASs) for Computed Tomography (CT) and Power Systems for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). For the past sixteen months, Dr. Becker helped oversee Analogic's divisional operations.
A graduate of the University of Chicago, Dr. Becker earned a BS in Physics and a PhD in Biophysics. Prior to Analogic, he worked at Searle Medidata, a division of G. D. Searle, in Waltham, Massachusetts.
