Hologic will open the NASDAQ exchange on Thursday to commemorate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is the fourth year that the women's health technology company has done the honors.
The company is kicking of its "Promise to Me" campaign (www.PromiseToMe.com), focused on increasing awareness of the importance of breast cancer screening. The company's effort is aimed at supporting women who are unable to afford mammograms or who are in remote areas.
Also in the news, the company is enjoying a boost internationally. Hologic has received CE marking approval for its ThinPrep integrated imaging technology for cervical cancer screening. CE marking approval allows Hologic to market the ThinPrep integrated imager in the 27 countries of the European Union and three of the four member states of the European Free Trade Association.
