Santa Clara, Calif., Nov 21, 2005 - PowerFile, Inc., provider of online archive solutions for long-term storage of fixed digital content, has announced the appointment of Dan Warmenhoven to its Board of Directors. Warmenhoven is the chief executive officer of Network Appliance, Inc., a leader in advanced networked storage and data management solutions.
Warmenhoven brings a high profile in the data storage industry and valuable experience in rapid business expansion to PowerFile's board. Under Warmenhoven's leadership, Network Appliance has become a billion-dollar company widely recognized as a pioneer in the concept of storage networking. Warmenhoven led Network Appliance's initial public offering in 1995, and today he leads a global company with over 4,000 employees and distribution channels in 120 countries. In recent years, Warmenhoven won the prestigious "National Ernst & Young Enterpreneur of the Year" award and was named one of BusinessWeek magazine's "Top 25 Managers for the Year."
"We're thrilled to have Dan Warmenhoven on our board," remarked Kirk Dunn, President and CEO of PowerFile, Inc. "He shares our view that online archive addresses a specific and powerful demand in the data-storage industry. Organizations need to be able to store fixed content with the peace of mind that the content will always be available. They need to be able to access that content easily and quickly, but at a lower cost than methods designed for dynamic content. Dan Warmenhoven can help us pursue that vision. He is a perfect addition to our board."

"Online archive is the logical response to a clear market demand," agreed Dan Warmenhoven. "Records retention requirements are pushing companies to store vast amounts of information in its final form. In the past, companies could discard these records after a fairly short amount of time. But today companies require secure, permanent storage - both nearline and archival - for long-term retention. PowerFile offers a compelling solution, and they have a talented team. I'm delighted to be on their board."
