The CT/X-Ray tube is the most costly component of any system or scanner. Protecting the tube with simple monitoring steps can greatly extend tube life. One of the most important elements of tube protection is proper tube warm-up prior to daily use. Tube warm-up procedures are an automated group of low technique exposures designed to safely raise the CT or X-Ray tube up to the optimum operating temperature. Follow suggestions provided in the tube operating manual.
