One important test following OEM recommended maintenance procedures is checking the slip ring system. Each manufacturer has prescribed times documented in the maintenance manuals. Precautions must always be taken when working on any medical device. Extreme caution is necessary when testing the slip ring system.
Always disconnect hazardous voltage before testing--failure to do so may result in serious injury or death.

- Do not stand near slip ring assembly while power is present and the covers are off. Always make sure power is off. High voltage components will retain a charge for a short period of time. You can always check supplies with your DVM to confirm safety.
