Philips Respironics is hosting some upcoming Know How Webinars on important sleep and home respiratory topics.
"The challenges facing the industry today in the sleep and home respiratory markets are very substantial. Whether it's a small, independent organization or operation or a national chain, the home care providers need the latest clinical and business information available," said Maryellen Bizzack, Director, Marketing & Communications, Philips Home Healthcare Solutions. "It's always been the mission of Philips Respironics to go beyond just supplying product to market and it's very important to us to provide health care professionals with clinical and education tools to help support their businesses," she told reporters in a webinar briefing Wednesday.
The new webinars will provide the latest clinical, business and product information in a timely manner. The series is free and hosted by experts at Philips along with other clinicians and therapists. The online format, typically one hour, allows live views or convenient later playback.

"We are consistently trying to find out what our customers need as it relates to the clinical disorders that we are currently treating. So we do the clinical Know How Webinars to help keep the sleep and home respiratory professionals up to date with information on research and clinical care and clinical care pathways for their patients," said Sharon Baer, MBA, RRT, CPFT, Global Strategic Marketing Manager for Philips.
Clinical webinar topics focus on new clinical tools, products, monitoring tools and best practices.
Jay Vreeland, Director of US Marketing, Home Respiratory Care, for Philips Home Healthcare Solutions, briefed participants on product and business webinars.
For instance, since many patients are on Medicare, keeping up with regulatory changes is critical to providers. Webinars are a way to get timely accurate information to the provider base.
"Significant changes have recently occurred around the qualification for reimbursement of patients with respiratory assist devices (RAD)," Vreeland said. "These changes have occurred in the last couple of weeks. In response we put together a Know How Webinar to walk our customers through the challenges and changes in the policy and how it may affect their business."
Other business topics include matching patients to the proper portable home oxygen device, helping patients prepare to travel with oxygen, Medicare PAP supply replacement policies, and others.
