DOTmed 100 nuclear specialists
Absolute Imaging Solutions (AIS) has built a great reputation for refurbished as well as new nuclear medicine cameras, plus parts and service. The company was founded in 2001 by
Mark Shina and staffed with experienced field service personnel.
"In the past 20-plus years, our service personnel sold countless systems purely on our strong track record and dependability. Many of the systems sold were based on the fact that they were going to get the best service from the best people," said Mark A. Parks, CNMT, RT(N), Sales and Product Specialist at AIS. "Our company is based on the same principle that good service will be our salesman any day of the week."
They started in nuclear medicine, which remains their specialty with legacy systems as old as 15 years along with newer systems supported by a significant warehouse inventory of parts. AIS is also a distributor for a manufacturer of affordable new equipment.
"We keep systems working. When people want to replace them, we can replace them with a system that is the same age, slightly newer, or brand new," Parks said. "One of the things that has played into our favor lately is the tumultuous nature of medical practice right now. A lot of people are nervous and concerned about reimbursement. The funds just don't exist like they did just 5-10 years ago when hospitals were given huge budgets to buy new cameras. "What we're finding now is a lot of uncertainty and a stronger push for hospitals and imaging centers to make their equipment last longer. If they do need to replace it, replace it with equipment that works and to be less concerned about the name on the system and the age of the system and be more concerned about its abilities."
Customers range from cardiologists, diagnostic imaging centers and hospitals, all looking to cut costs. AIS has an expansive warehouse of single, dual-head and even triple-head cameras along with a vast inventory of parts to ensure customers remain up and running, a critical factor for health service providers.
"Many of our competitors service systems as well but they don't have their own parts depot. We have an active inventory of parts for all the cameras we service. So not only can we order the same parts from the manufacturers but we have parts on hand for all of our systems. So our parts availability is second to none. We can get parts to the site quicker than almost anybody including the OEMs."
