Ascent, a medical device reprocessing company, was named the Purchased Services Supplier of the Year by VHA, a network of nonprofit health care organizations.
The award recognizes Ascent's efforts to help member hospitals and providers reduce supply costs and medical waste through safe and effective device reprocessing.
"We're very pleased," Kevin Liszewski, the company's vice president of corporate accounts, tells DOTmed News. "We have a long-standing relationship with VHA, and this just validates our performance and our ability to deliver economic and environmental savings.

Last year Ascent's services saved VHA members $44.4 million in medical device costs and diverted 668 tons of device waste from landfills.
