Medical Technology Resources (MTR), an Ohio-based medical services company with a combined experience of more than 40 years, announced the opening of a new facility in Charlotte, N.C.

Andy Amicon, the company's CEO and president, told DOTmed News that the facility is about 3,500 square feet. MTR is excited to be able to serve its customers in the southeast region.

"We want to try and get our distribution facilities closer to our customers and we do a significant amount of business in the Carolinas," said Amicon. "We have a direct rep there. We've grown the business large enough to support the facility."

MTR also hired a biomedical technician to service the equipment of both the company and its customers. Before the new facility, equipment had to go to Columbus, OH for repairs. Since MTR now has a site in Charlotte, the waiting time for equipment repairs will be reduced, said Amicon.

"We're just happy to get our distribution services closer to our customers," he said.

MTR specializes in renting, leasing and selling new or used medical equipment including drug delivery and other technologies for health care providers.
