The Royal Marsden Hospital is
the world's oldest cancer hospital.
Carestream Health won a bid from a prestigious London cancer hospital to install its radiology information system, the company said Monday.

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust chose Carestream to install its RIS at two of its locations: one in Chelsea, London, and the other in Sutton, a London suburb, Carestream said. The company, whose European headquarters is in Geneva, won a bid it placed last August.

The Royal Marsden Hospital is a nearly 160-year-old cancer hospital that treats over 40,000 patients each year, according to Carestream.

"Carestream's version 11 RIS is an extremely configurable product which, when installed, will allow us to minimize RMH Radiology's clinical risks with regards to requesting, scheduling, documentation and reporting," Royal Marsden's radiology services manager Mikki Grinstead said in a statement. "We look forward to working with Carestream on this project."

Carestream said it will begin installation in the second half of the year.
