The Department of Defense said this week it would award nearly $54 million in contracts to Agfa Healthcare and Fuji Medical Systems USA to supply the military and federal agencies with DIN-PACS systems.
The DoD said it will award Ridgefield Park, N.J.-based Agfa up to $45 million for the digital imaging network picture archiving communication systems to be used by the armed forces. Stamford, Conn.-based Fuji got a contract for up to $9 million to supply the services and federal agencies with the systems.
Both contracts, which last until May 21, were delivered through Web-solicited bids.

Agfa said it has already installed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of PACS and teleradiology equipment for the DoD and Veterans Affairs.
